Later, start exploring the ancient city of Nizwa. If it is a Friday, you have the opportunity where the herders bring their cattle to be auctioned once a week.

Explore the cultural capital of the country where its souq is still the best place to buy silver in the country. This is followed by a visit to the most visited national monument, Nizwa Fort.

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Jabal Shams.

Start your day by driving to Al Hamra. Here, the village women demonstrate old practices such as milling, coloring, cooking and more. To the west of Al Hamra lies the road winding up to Jebel Shams, the mountain of the sun. It is the highest mountain in the Arabic world and reaches 3075 m above sea level.

The drive to the peak is adventurous; you pass the old village Ghul with its green terrace fields. Drive further and you reach the abyss of the Omani Grand Canyon. Enjoy the breath-taking views. Next, visit the mountain village of Misfah, which offers rewarding views of ancient architecture seen in stone houses.

Today, enjoy the drive through the stunning dunes.

Today, start your day by visiting the celebrated Wadi Bani Khalid.

The ever-green Wadi Bani Khalid is one of the most famous ones of the entire Sharqiyah region. The river never dries out completely through the whole year as there is continuous water current. You will see large palm-lined ponds with turquoise and sapphire-colored water that look inviting for a quick swim.

Next, visit the fishing town of Sur, home to the Omani traditional Dhows (boat). Check-in at the accommodation and later, visit the dhow factory in the open-air museum.
