Enroute visit the Dha-Hanu which is located 163 km north west of Leh town. The village settlements of Dha and Hanu are placed on the meeting points of Indus and Shyok Rivers in the Kargil region. Framed as the ‘Land of Aryans’, these villages are home to Brokpa or Drokpa community of Ladakh.
After visiting Dha Hanu proceed towards Batalik which is one of the most famous war front zones fought by the Indian soldiers in 1999 with Pakistan.

Enroute, visit the villages of Mulbekh and Lamayuru, which belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat). Then drive and cross the River Indus and reach Alchi, Ladakh's most loved monastery. Next, drive to Tsokar. The nomadic people, known as Changpas, in Tsokar village are very interesting. You can see them moving from one place to other grazing herds of goats, sheep, and yaks. They pass their days with their animals and move their flocks, their only wealth, from pasture to pasture according to changing season. Their flocks, their yaks, and goat's hair furnish the raw material of which they make their ropes, their clothes, and shoes. All day long, men and women are busy milking, churning the milk into butter, making ropes, weaving mats and other fabrics. These people have been completely unaffected by the changing times. Spend some time at the Tsokar lake and then proceed to Leh.

The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La which is the highest motorable road in the world at 5,602 Mtrs from Leh. Hunder is a place in Leh where you get an opportunity to see sand dunes and ride on a bacterian camel (double humped). It is indeed a strange sight to see sand dunes and camels as immediately on the left of the road is the Rocky Mountains that characterize the Ladakhi landscape and in the distance can be seen snow-capped mountains.
While returning, visit Diskit which is the headquarter town of Nubra Valley. it is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire valley.

Your first stop will be at the Changla Pass where you can have a quick photography session. Next, drive down to the village of Tangtse, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong, you will pass through a few small villages of Changthang, after which, you can finally have a view of the Pangong Lake that is situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). Day 1 : Leh Arrival
